Hope Gala

2013 Hope Gala Raises more than $1 Million!

Bid Cards

What a journey we all took on Saturday night, May 18, at the Hope Gala. Our fun experiences with the bubbles in New York, salsa in Miami, and the casino tables of Las Vegas ultimately lead to leaving our hearts in San Francisco!

Andy & FredrikThe evening would not have been complete without our honorees from the past 15 years, who we are all so very grateful for as we celebrated the 15th Anniversary of the Hope Gala.  It was a great opportunity to honor them as well as the 2013 Living and Giving Award recipient, Wells Fargo. The honorary chair John Shrewsberry delivered a compelling message about the importance of giving and sustaining the JDRF mission of finding a cure for T1D, a message that was reinforced through the authentic and compelling story of our Fund a Cure speakers, The Nilsson Family.  They brought us all to tears and closer to an understanding of the effects of T1D on an entire family and the way a diagnosis can shape a family’s future.

Fun was had by all with wonderful drinks and dinner perfectly delivered to usStan and John Award by The Ritz Carlton, San Francisco staff! Thanks to our celebrity emcee, one of People Magazines “Sexiest Men” and chef extraordinaire Sam Talbot. The exceptional gala committee planned countless surprises throughout the evening, and the after PARTY was one to be reckoned with! Thanks to David Martin’s House Party, our casino hosts 21FunCasinos, The Laugh Box, and Mixologist Camber Lay of Parallel 37.

In the end, it was YOU that brought the magic to the evening helping to raise more and $1 million to fund T1D research.  Thank you.

See you all next year!
