Dayton Coles
Dayton Coles, is a member of JDRF’s International Board of Directors and Chair of JDRF’s Research Committee. He is a past member of the Lay Review Committee and remains an adjunct member of the LRC. Dayton helped initiate JDRF’s Industry Discovery and Development Partnership Program by developing and negotiating the funding agreements with our industry partners. Dayton is also a former member of the Research Advisory, Research Executive, and Research Development Committees.
Mark Fischer-Colbrie
Mark Fischer-Colbrie has been Greater Bay Area Chapter President (2 years), Vice-President Government Relations (3 years) and Vice-President Corporate Development (2 years). He was a co-founder of the Silicon Valley branch and served on the branch board for six years. He holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of California at Berkeley and a BA from Stanford University. Currently Mark serves as the VP of Research on the Greater Bay Area Executive Board.
Ann Herman
Ann Herman, Ph.D., received her Ph.D. from Stanford University and completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Joslin Diabetes Center at Harvard. She has been a Research Investigator at the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation, in San Diego, CA, since 2004. Dr. Herman is currently Program Head of the GNF-JDRF Alliance, running a collaborative program between GNF and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to restore beta cell function in type-1 diabetes.
Bruce Buckingham
Dr Bruce A. Buckingham, MD, Professor of Pediatrics (Endocrinology) at the Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital, is an accomplished clinician, teacher, and researcher. Recently, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation has funded three major projects at Stanford under Dr. Buckingham’s leadership, including the JDRF Artificial Pancreas Project: the Continuous Glucose Sensor Human Clinical Trial and the Artificial Pancreas Consortium.
