Owen

Owen

Owen was eight years old when he was diagnosed with T1D. He is in fourth grade at St. Vincent de Paul School in San Francisco and spends his free-time playing soccer, skiing, surfing, playing piano and singing in the Golden Gate Boys Choir. He and his brothers served on the 2012 Junior Committee for the JDRF Royal Ball. Owen wants people to know that T1D is “not the end of the world…but it does definitely change things A LOT.” He feels lucky to have the options available to people with T1D today but dreams of a cure, or at least better management tools so he can feel like the kid he was before being diagnosed with T1D.
